What is AI test feedback?

AI test feedback is a personalized coaching tool designed to help you get the most value out of every test you take. Instead of just seeing a percentile score, you’ll receive a structured report that explains your results in plain language.

The feedback focuses on:

  • Performance summary: What your score means in the context of the specific test.

  • Test-taking behavior: Insights into your time management and persistence.

  • Strengths: Specific areas where you demonstrated solid understanding.

  • Growth areas: Practical suggestions for skills you can brush up on.

ℹ️ Note: This feedback is strictly for your personal learning. It is never shared with employers and is never used to make hiring decisions.

Understanding your feedback report

When you click See feedback, TestGorilla generates a report tailored to that specific attempt.

What went well

This section highlights positive test-taking behaviors. For example, if you attempted every question or managed your time effectively, the AI will recognize that effort.

Growth areas & Next steps

Rather than just pointing out mistakes, the AI suggests 2–4 concrete actions. This might include:

  • Reviewing specific concepts before a retake.

  • Using online tutors or practice tools.

  • Adjusting your pace for future tests (especially for Typing Speed tests).

Data privacy and fairness

To ensure your feedback is accurate and helpful, we have built-in guardrails:

  • No "Job Fit" Claims: The AI will never tell you if you are a "good fit" for a specific job, as a single test cannot determine professional success.

  • Behavioral Focus: Insights are based on how you performed on this specific test, not your overall intelligence or personality.

  • Expiration: Test results are valid for 2 years. If your result is older than 2 years, the feedback will encourage you to retake the test to reflect your current skill level.

No. This feedback is generated exclusively for the candidate's view. Employers only see the scores and data they've always had access to.

Can I get feedback on a test I took a long time ago?

Yes! You can access feedback for the latest attempt of each test through the Test Results tab in your profile, provided the attempt was within the last 24 months. We do not provide feedback for tests attempted more than 24 months ago.
