What are custom questions?

Custom questions are individual questions written and customized by your prospective employer. The time limits for these questions can vary. 

 

Types of custom questions:

There are 4 types of custom questions:

Multiple Choice

The standard question type seen on most tests - you’ll be able to pick from several answer options. Time limit: 30 - 120 seconds

Essay

These are open-ended questions where you’ll need to compose your answer from scratch. It’s a good idea to look at the time limit, as it might give a hint as to what the employer is looking for. You can use the text editor to customize your input so that it reads more like a word document. Time limit: 1 - 30 minutes

File upload

File upload questions are a great way for employers to ask you to provide a resume, portfolio, or other documents that might be useful in the hiring process. You can upload a range of files, including:

  • CSV/ XLS/ XLSX
  • DOC/DOCX
  • TXT
  • PPT/PPTX
  • ODP (Open document presentation)
  • KEY (Apple keynote file)
  • PNG/JPG/PSD/BMP/GIF
  • PDF

Time limit: 10 minutes - 7 days
