Alongside skills tests or other question types, your assessment may include a conversational AI video interview. This is not a live interview with a person from the hiring team. Instead, it’s a structured conversation with an AI interviewer designed to help employers learn more about your skills, abilities, and experiences. You can think of it as an interactive way to showcase more than what’s written on your resume.

What to expect
If your assessment includes a conversational AI video interview, you’ll see a welcome screen before it begins.
Interviews typically take 10–20 minutes, depending on how many questions are included.
Before you begin
Prepare just as you would for other video-based parts of the assessment:
Have a working camera and microphone — you’ll use them to record your answers.
Ensure a reliable internet connection to avoid disruptions.
Find a quiet space and remove distractions (silence your phone, close other apps).
Watch the short demonstration video to see how the interview works before you start.
| Note: Your interview may include questions tailored specifically to the role you're applying for. Some employers create custom interview questions based on their needs. |
During the interview
You’ll be asked a series of structured questions. The AI interviewer will speak to you using audio, and you’ll respond out loud using your microphone. Each question is designed to take about two minutes, though you may take more or less time depending on the question. After your response, the AI may summarize what you said, ask a follow-up question, or invite you to add anything.
What you’ll see during the interview: The AI interviewer appears in the center of your screen. Your own video preview is shown in the corner, and a timer at the top tracks your overall time.
Here are a few key things to keep in mind before you begin:
Listen carefully and ask for clarification if you’re unsure.
Speak clearly. Your words are recorded and scored against clear criteria.
If the AI pauses or doesn’t continue, you can ask it to repeat the last question or to resume the interview.
Stay calm and be yourself. Answer honestly and focus on your experiences.
At the end of the interview, the AI will let you know it’s finished and prompt you to click Finish to complete this part of the assessment.
Remember, the conversational AI interview is just one part of your assessment. Up to this point, you may have completed skill tests and other question types.
Common questions
What if I don’t understand a question?
You can ask the AI interviewer for clarification or request that it repeat the question.
Who can see my responses?
Your video and transcript are shared only with the employer who invited you. They’ll use your answers as part of their overall assessment of your application.
How are my answers scored?
Only the content of what you say is evaluated against clear, job-related criteria. Tone, accent, and appearance are not judged.
What happens if the AI interviewer stops or doesn’t respond?
You can ask it to resume the interview or repeat the last question. If the issue continues, check your internet connection and refresh your browser.
Is this a real person interviewing me?
No. The AI interviewer is not part of the hiring team. It’s designed to ask structured questions and record your responses so the employer can review them later.
How long will this take?
Most conversational AI interviews take 10–20 minutes.
