Welcome screen

The welcome screen explains how the assessment works. The information given varies for each assessment, though some will always appear.

The welcome screen will always display:

  • Information about the individual tests you will complete, including the test name, the number of questions, and the maximum time (before any accommodations).
  • Assessment rules.
    • We recommend completing the assessment in one go but you can pause or take breaks between tests if needed.
    • The assessment is timed. A timer is shown per test and/or per question.
    • You can use pen, paper, and calculator during the assessment but avoid using AI and other tools
  • Technical requirements for your assessment
    • Have a camera and microphone, as you may be required to answer questions in a video format
    • Enable webcam and speakers/headphones for identity verification and test integrity
    • Snapshots will be taken of you periodically during the assessment to ensure fairness for everyone
    • Ensure you have a reliable internet connection to avoid any disruptions during your assessment

Honesty agreement

Before proceeding, you must sign the TestGorilla honesty agreement. By doing so, you confirm your commitment to completing the assessment without using AI tools, retaking the assessment multiple times, or engaging in any other behaviors prohibited by our Candidate Honesty Policy.

By signing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to follow the terms outlined in the Candidate Honesty Policy.

Accommodation requests

Candidates can self-identify their need for an accommodation to TestGorilla. Language-based accommodation requests are shared with the employer, but self-reported disability/condition requests are not. Requests are usually handled by granting extra time on the assessment. All legitimate requests are granted.

Have more questions about accommodations and accessibility? Check out our article Accessibility and accommodations for assessments.

Camera and mic setup

We take snapshots to ensure fairness for everyone. We also use your camera and mic for video questions, where you record your answers using your webcam. This screen will help you ensure your camera and microphone are working properly.

Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your camera and microphone. If done correctly, you’ll see your image on the right side of the screen.
